Week #80-Bendiciones!!!

Everyone here in Guatemala says ``bendiciones`` when they first talk to you which means blessings. It is kind of funny. I go around saying ``Bendiciones`` to everyone and they love it. It`s a simple way to give people blessings haha! It`s good fun!
So sorry our day was not planned out very well but we had a pretty fun week! I`ll tell you the highlights! Also happy 80th birthday to Carol Ann (I think it`s Ann right?) James! The greatest grandma and Atari master to ever walk the earth!
Well the best news is that the L Family is going to get baptized this week! We are going to have their wedding this Thursday and then we are going to baptize them so that is so great! The only one that didn`t accept is J! Which is insane because before she was the one that always wanted to get  baptized and then when we challenged them yesterday she got all quiet and didn`t want to accept or talk about it! No idea what is going on. I will never understand women.
Also before i tell you this story you might have to EDIT IT! It is pretty funny and don`t worry about how scary it is because I am fine! So we were out of toilet paper and we went to the church so I took advantage of the opportunity to go to the bathroom there! Well to my horror, I pooped blood! I honestly thought I was going to die. I had the cell phone and I knew that Elder Martineau was in the next room over in the office with the office phone so I called him and told him my predicament! He came rushing into the bathroom! Then he told me that I should call President so I did! But Hermana Goodman answered and I did not want to explain her my situation so I asked for President! He told me that I needed to call the nurse which I did not want to do. Poor Hermana Diego is so innocent. She doesn`t need to deal with that kind of stuff! But I started getting all light headed and I threw up. I think I psyched myself out because I thought I was going to die. Well she said I had to go to the hospital. I went to the hospital and almost passed out, but I went to my happy place (Strawberry in Snow Basin) and I remained awake! Then the doctor asked me a bunch of questions. Then he examined me which was easily the worst experience of my life! I don`t know what it was, but I`m not pooping blood anymore!
But yeah things are going great! We are having a lot of success. I`m staying with Elder Martineau for another transfer! Today we just said goodbye to all the people who were leaving and then we went to Pizza Hut. It`s way funny because there is this sister from Brazil who is in our zone and I told her happy birthday but it isn`t her birthday and then we had the people sing for her in front of everyone and it wasn`t her birthday. It was so classic!
    Love you!

Week #79-"Grandpa, I"m Tired of Diggin Holes" "Well That's Just Too Dang Bad!"

Best quote of all time! I love that movie. Anyways it was a good week! We were literally in our area like two full days this week which was insane! We had to go up to Mazate and Reu like 5 days this week! And on Saturday and Sunday we had to wake up at 4:30 in the morning which was rough but it was so worth it! Elder Rasband is so awesome! His talk was so great and he shook all of our hands! But I did see Jake Foster and I talked to him for a minute! The reason why he wasn´t in the picture is because we divided up into missions after the meeting with Elder Rasband.
So Elder Rasband, Elder Craig C. Christensen and bishop Davies from the Presiding Bishopric all came with Elder Jose Alonzo and some other area 70s. It had to have been the first time an Apostle had come to this mission in the history of the world! But I got front row seats which was way lucky! But I wore some of my crazy socks which was not a good idea. I was covering them the whole time ha ha! But all the general authorities brought their wives too which was awesome! Their wives are so incredible and they all gave talks as well! it was way impressive!
But yeah it was a really good meeting! And then we were lucky enough for Elder Rasband to come to our stake. Well actually it´s not our stake because La Maquina is not part of any stake because it´s too small haha! But they invited us anyways and we all left from La Maquina at 6 in the morning to get to Mazate at 730 and then get some seats! But Elder Rasband went around and shook hands with literally everyone in the room! And his wife gave the first talk and she decided that she was going to do it in Spanish, she doesn´t even know Spanish, but she did a great job! She had her translator there too which was crazy! But they are such awesome people!
It was a good week though! I saw some people from my ward in Mazate which was good! I left my camera at home though! But, hermana Pereira got me some pictures
My investigators are doing good! We literally didn´t have any time to visit them this week! Only one of them came to the meeting in Mazate with us and she can´t get baptized because she is living with a guy who is married to another woman.
Love you have a good week!

Week #78-"You Got Me a Gun Rack?"

If you name the movie I will be so happy but this time you have to name the movie! You always ignore my requests! Best movie ever! I will give you another hint if you need it!  (Wayne's World)
So good week! Acxel (we learned it was spelled that way when we were filling out his papers) got baptized! It was so joyful! We had to baptize him yesterday because he lives in this place called Tahuexco which is so far away and he didn´t want to get baptized on the beach because he wanted to get baptized in the church in the pila so we did it (and decreased the surplus population!)! But we had to leave the center of La Maquina at 6 in the morning, drive down to Tahuexco and then drive back up to La Maquina and we picked up like 500 people and we all piled in the back of an old pickup truck it was so cool! He was really happy! But we had a lot of fun! So the baptism was supposed to start at 8, one hour before sacrament meeting. But we got back a little late from Tahexco which is alright because we run the branch so there is no branch president that can get mad at you! But it was way cool! A million people came and 8 investigators were there too which was even more cool! But yeah it was a good time!
Literally it was the most stressful thing of my life because we had no idea how we were going to do it but the Lord provided a way! Oh my goodness that is such a big story! So I almost drove the car of a member there and President Goodman was about to let me do it, but last minute there is this guy that is from Xela and he was there and said that he could help us out if we paid for the gas! He is the guy who helped us get to Tahuexco because there isn´t transportation to get down there and he usually goes back up to Xela on Sundays to go to church there, but he said the wanted to stay for Acxel´s baptism last minute so it worked out well! It was like Nephi when they had to get the plates from Laban we just winged it and it worked! But in the branch, we literally do everything we have to program the baptisms because there is only one active member of the church who has the priesthood and he is 81. We direct the meetings, one of us gives a talk every week, we bless the Sacrament, do the tithing and literally everything. It is fun. But I had to give a talk and I realized half way through the sacrament that I had left all of my notes for the talk at home so I had to wing that as well! It was insane!
We had a good week though. it was good clean fun! We hope that some more homies get baptized soon. We just got to marry some people and hopefully we are throwing people in the water like Peter throws nets in the water. Today we had an awesome activity and we played this game where we had to look for scriptures in the Book of Mormon and whoever got the scripture fastest won! I won haha! And I was way cocky about it I was like ´´Is anyone else going to start to play or am I the only one playing´´ I´m such a jerk! then Elder Martineau got second place and we literally rubbed it in everyone´s face haha!
I realized that people actually read my blog before they came on the mission! Hermana Vargas used to read it and Hermana Pereira. I think I'm going to be famous one day! Hopefully Oprah reads it. Also, Elder Rasband is coming this week! Bendiciones! Love you.

Week #77

Hello mom! What a great week! Oh my goodness I had the greatest experience of my entire life! Kind of, it was actually kind of weird! So on Tuesday we still had to translate for the gringos but I was sick of being with the wheel chair people! They were good people but they didn´t really need me and I wanted in on the action! So I went back with the dentists to translate! There was this awesome dude who likes mountain biking who´s name is Rodger I called him ´´mista Rodger´s neighborhood´´ (but not to his face because he´d think I was weird). Anyway, it was the first patient of the day and it was this lady who had only four teeth left! Well she wanted to take the remaining 4 out! So Mista Rodga´s Neighborhood took them out! I saw him do the shots in her mouth and I got all sick! Well then when he pulled out the first tooth I got more sick! And then he was totally prompted by the Spirit because he asked me if I could go look for a band aid for him. So I left the dentist´s room and I started loosing my vision! I was passing out so I sat next to some gringa nurses and told them that I was going to pass out and then I passed out! I will never be a doctor!
Well we went to Axel´s house and he seems pretty much all ready for baptism this week! it will be cool! He was going to come to church at the chapel yesterday instead of attend out in the group in Tahuexco for fast and testimony meeting but his motorcycle broke down half way there. it is like an hour away from his house shack. It isn´t surprising though because he gets his whole family pilled on the motorcycle, his wife, his three children and his grandchild! it is insane! He´s 33 and has a grandson haha! But yeah we ended up going after church to rescue him and his family.
Also two of our investigators bore their testimonies in front of the whole branch yesterday! Lorena (like that awesome Mexican restaurant) and her daughter Brittany! It was so cool! It made me so proud! But yeah I love that! Then we taught them about how we can seal families together and she was so happy! She completely  understood it! she isn´t married to her husband and we want to baptize the husband too! Is that too much to ask?! But yeah they need to get married and baptized this month!
