Week #23

Man this week really sucked. I realized there is no worse feeling than when your investigator backs out of the baptism last minute! So Victor didn´t get baptized this week. He was all good to go until Wednesday we found him in the street and he told us that a Evangelico Pastor talked to him and told him that it´s too fast to get baptized in three weeks and that he made his choice too fast. But we had a lesson with him and he understood baptism a little more and that you don´t need to prepare for 30 years if you don´t have any serious sins. So he was good for Saturday. But then Saturday he went to work with his uncle in a different city and didn´t come back until late. But he told us Sunday Morning at 7 AM would be good. But we got to his house in the morning and he ran away! I just want to talk to the kid! We´re not trying to force him to get baptized! We just want to talk! Anyways it was rough. "I wanna win a soccer game!!!!!" (Kicking and Screaming)
Anyways I was thinking how to describe to you how it feels to have a baptism fall and the first thing that came to my head was the Steelers vs. Ravens game in the first round of the playoffs last year. I remember I tried to get work off but nobody would take my shift on that Saturday, but they let me go home in time to watch it. Anyways I was way excited for it obviously. And I literally get so pumped for baptisms because they are the greatest things in the world. And then i think Will Gay picked off Joe Flacco and ran it back for a touchdown and I went so nuts that I laid out Shalese and she went flying across the room! Anyways it´s like at the end of the game when Ben tried to dump off that little bubble screen to Ben Tate and it bounced off his hands and Terrell Suggs caught the ball between his thighs to end the game. That is how it feels when the baptism falls. You have hope that maybe they will show up or call you back. Then you realize that there is no hope. The devil is like Terrell Suggs. He gets your hopes up and then plants bad ideas in investigator´s heads. Anyways it is like that but 2000000 times worse because instead of a game it is literally a persons well being and eternal salvation. And it sucks because you fast for them, and pray for them, study for them, think about them constantly and then Satan comes along and ruins everything! Also Satan is the head of the Iglesia Evangelica.
He could get baptized this Saturday. Also we have an awesome investigator named Kevin who is 19 and I think he will get bapatized this week. And we have Yamilet who could get baptized the week after. They are good kids and good with kids!
We had "mini-missionaries" show up Saturday when we were preparing for the baptism. They are just people with mission calls who live here who go on splits with us for two weeks. They are here because Elder Varela has to go to Reu and Xela like twenty times this week and one of them needs to stay with me and work. But we only have two  beds in the house so they slept on our beds and we slept on the floor which sucked because we found a scorpion in the house a few days ago. I have pictures. Anyways it was nice to have them yesterday because we taught 13 lessons yesterday and found 9 new investigators which is really good! But luckily they are sleeping in the zone leaders house now. I felt like I was training yesterday because the kid that I was with didn´t speak a word! But it was alright! It was fun!
Awesome for Brittan! Chile is awesome! Sad about Jake Foster! That is rough. A kid went home in my zone Tuesday for illness. Go Panthers! Love you!

Week #22

Hey mom! So it was a pretty good week! I actually took pictures this week because I felt bad ha ha!
So It was a good week! We have been teaching this 16 year old kid named Victor and both of his parents died so he is living with the family of our Ward Mission Leader. Anyways we have his baptisim planned for this Saturday (maybe in a river) so hopefully everything goes good. He´s pretty quiet but he seems ready for baptism. We announced his baptism to the ward this week in Sacrament meeting so I´m sure he feels a little bit obligated to get baptized now ha ha!
Our other really good progressng investigator who was way positive told us the other day that his mom doesn´t want him to "play with God" so he can´t have lessons with us anymore which is crap because he is 19 years old! Where is the agency for hecks sakes. I will not lie, usually the mothers or the grandmothers are demons here because the always cause problems like that.
But we found a really good new investigator who´s whole family is mormon and his cousin just got back from Brazil this week. So we taught him a lesson with his aunt, and cousins and his whole family yesterday after he came to church. It was a good lesson and he accepted the date for the 30 to get baptized.
After the lesson the family invited us to eat lunch with them (our second lunch that day) so they gave us lunch and turned on the TV, and of course, Steelers vs. Broncos! It was the first quarter and the Broncos were up 0-6. But then I saw the touchdown by 33 who i want to call Issac Redman ha ha! And when we were leaving they scored a field goal too! I was excited! I cant believe they lost!
Anyways things are going good! The ward had 92 people in the church! When I got here their average was 60 or something! I swear it is because the ward is fasting! What a great activity, a 40 day fast! brilliant!
Anyways sorry about the Steelers! I tried to do a back flip today and I literally ate the dirt! "I think he eats the dirt" "Moles don´t eat dirt, worrrrrrrrms eat dirt´´ (Holes) Anyways the side of my face is all red and stuff ha ha! Love you email me fast!

Week #21-Muy buenas tardes‏‏

Bryson told me that he extended 2 weeks Emoji I'm a sad mama, but he will still be home around mid August of 2017. Check out his tag.....it's pretty worn, that's a hard working missionary! I've been dying for a picture of his tag, haha! Here is his email for the week:

Mama! Hey so it was an alright week this week! I hope that we can get some people baptized soon! I will tell you some stuff that happened.
So this week was rough but good. It was rough because the week before every one of our progressing investigators fell which is rough which meant that all we had to do this week was pretty much find new people and try to get as many of them progressing as we could which is rough because when all you do all day is find people it is not the funnest thing ever. I always suggest using the things from The Highly Effective Missionary but nobody every wants to try it! But it´s brilliant stuff. Anyways we are doing a 40 day fast which means that everyone in our ward has one day to fast for 40 days and they have to fast and pray to receive revelation one who needs the gospel. So every day we call a member and they always have references for us which is really nice. Anyways it was the ward mission leaders turn this week and we went over to his house to see if he had references and he just told us to sit and wait at his house. Then he came back 5 minutes later with 5 people and told us to teach them! It was such a good lesson. I was on divisions with my district leader, I finally got to speak a lot which I am not used to because Elder Varela doesn´t let me talk a lot ha ha! Anyways two of them are really positive and one of them told us that he has been looking for the Church that is the only true church. So perfect because he found it! So hopefully everything goes smooth.
We found an investigator who lived in the states for 40 years and he loves me because he can speak English with me. I wish I could talk about him more because he is probably the most interesting guy I have met in the mission. We are teaching his son too and trying to teach the wife.
Anyways things are going good. A member gave me a ton of pills so that I can make sure that all of my parasites are gone. I finally bought a new razor which replaced the razor that I have been using ever since I left the MTC so my face isn´t cut up every day.
Also we reactivated a family this Sunday! They finally came to church for the third time which qualifies them for reactivation! They are the greatest! The wife has depression and they have the greatest Spirit in their home! We always cry when we teach them! They love the missionaries. And they are starting to pay their tithing and everything!
I wish I could tell you everything but ´´my fingers hurt´´ ´´What was that?´´ ´´I said that my fingers hurt.´´ ´´Oh yeah well now your back is going to hurt cuz you just pulled landscape duty!!´´ Happy Gilmore
Anyways I kid you not I was in Subway today and I saw the Steelers score on the bottom line and it said 10 to 16 for the Bengals! I checked it 4 times and was heartbroken!!!!! I can´t believe they won! What the heck! And how is Ben hurt again! Also I know who Vontaze Burfict is! He is the worst! He´s like the Turrell Suggs of the Bengals! Anyways que bendiciĆ³n. Pray for Ben. Also, send me highlights! And for the Record Joey Porter could knock out Vontaze any day.
    Love you email me quick!

He sent this when he had to go:

But I got to go! Tell me about the game! Send many pictures of it, if it´s a good game! If they get destroyed I don´t want to think about it ha ha! But good luck this week! DRINK ONLY PEPSI NO COKE! IT WORKS! Anyways love you!  I love you! It is not a sin to pray for the health of Ben Rothlisberger and Antonio Brown. They are children of God as well and need prayers! But maybe pray that they will receive the gospel as well ha ha! Good luck with your nephews (because they are big Broncos fans, lol)! Road to seven American footballRing!!!!!!!!!!! Love you! I will talk to you soon!  Love you again! Bye!

Week #20-Does Anybody Care About Sid the Sloth?

I don't know why but that quote came to my head! What a great movie! So I prayed for stupid Pitt every day this week! I'm glad that he lives! (Pitt is our little Chihuahua who was having seizures) I got so used to including him in my prayers taht I prayed for him twice out loud in front of other people! And I am so happy that the Steelers won! I had no faith that it was going to happen but good stuff! It is going to be like 2005 all over again when the Steelers won the super bowl with Betis! They are gonig to play the same teams and everything! But yeah good stuff!
So this week was really rough! Last Monday I went home after writing you to get ready to go have some family home evenings with some people and I was so itchy for some reason. Anyways after I came home for the night I had a rash that was literally all over my body that itched more than anything! I didn't sleep until 4 in the morning and I woke up at 6:30 so I was dead! Anyways I got a disease called Sica that has been going around and it was the worst ever. But I am better now.
I finally got your package! What a miracle! Only beautiful music! Lots of Chirstmas music which is nice and I got my card and everything! Thank you! I love it! You're the greatest mom!
So all of our investigators fell this week which was rough. We were supposed to have a lot of baptisims coming up but they all told us things like ""I don't think I should get baptized for at least another year"", or "'I love the Book of Mormon and it is true but I feel really comfortable in my church'' Really bad excuses that we tried so hard to change but they really just don't want it anymore so that was really rough.
The good news is my companion and I are doing good. He's a good kid and I like working with him. If he worked to the fullness of his capacity we would baptize every week. Yesterday I don't know what happened but he was a freaking machine yesterday! I actually felt like the junior companion! He took the lead on pretty much everything which I wasn't used to! Anyways I hope that we can get some baptisims before he leaves! He's a good kid, and he is good with kids!
As far as everything else goes, my health is a lot better! I am don't dying of Sica anymore and my stomach isn't being eaten by parasites! I don't really have much to say this week besides I am glad that Pitt didn't die! Email me fast! LOve you!
